Reception

Our reception desk and telephone lines are open between 8.00am-6.30pm (8.00am - 6.30pm for telephone access). We can be very busy early in the day with patients wanting to book appointments that day.  If you have a routine enquiry or wish to obtain the results of a test, please call after 11am.  We do not take prescription requests over the telephone but can offer a variety of ways for you to place your order.  Please see ordering your repeat prescription section of the website.

Appointment System

All consultations are by appointment only. Please telephone 0117 9082360 - phone lines for appointments are open from 8.00am. Reception staff will ask some simple questions to enable them to direct you to the most appropriate professional or service in our area. The practice will endeavour to offer you an appointment with the doctor of your choice and we offer a selection of pre-bookable appointments.  If your problem is urgent and cannot wait we may be able to offer you a same day appointment, this will be with the next available clinician and we cannot offer a choice of times for these appointments.  If you have more than one problem to discuss with the doctor please mention this to the receptionist at the time of booking and if required we will book a double appointment. If you require an interpreter for your consultation please mention this at the time of booking.

We also have a facility for patients to book appointments via the internet. Our routine appointments are usually for 10 minutes, please book a separate appointment for each member of the family.

We are able to send SMS text reminders for your appointments if you have given us your mobile telephone number.  You are also able to reply to these messages to cancel an appointment if you need to.  If you would like to give us your mobile telephone number please complete details here.

Failure To Attend An Appointment (DNA)

If you no longer require your appointment, please phone to cancel it so another patient may use it.  We offer an easy way to cancel an appointment by calling the main surgery number (0117 9082360) and selecting option 1. You will be asked to leave some details and the reception team will pick your message up and cancel at the earliest opportunity.  This service is in operation 24 hrs/ 7 days per week.

If you have given us your mobile telephone number we will send you SMS text appointment reminders.  You can also use this service to cancel any booked appointments you may have.

If you repeatedly miss appointments without informing us we will write to you to raise awareness of this with you.
